PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Learn to holistically approach clinical mental health counseling by integrating a pastoral perspective. As a student in this program, you will prepare to work with diverse clients, which includes attention to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in counseling. You will learn and apply basic counseling skills, research strategies, and statistical knowledge to improve client treatment and program outcomes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon program completion, you will demonstrate the skills to effectively serve clients in the clinical setting, which includes assessment, diagnosis, and clinical treatment across the lifespan to promote wellness and optimal development.

You will identify as a professional counselor in alignment with ethical and legal standards and demonstrate culturally responsive behaviors that display self-regulation, self-awareness, flexibility, openness to feedback, and motivation to learn and grow. You will also meet the course requirements for state licensure in the Tri-State area and the eligibility requirements for certification by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
