PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Prepare to provide holistic, patient-centered primary care for individuals of all adult ages. As a student, you will learn to use evidence-based health promotion, disease prevention, and health protection treatment strategies to diagnose and manage adolescent (ages 12 and up), adult, older adult, and vulnerable adult populations at all levels of health and illness, including end-of-life care.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

In addition to career-relevant coursework, this program includes clinical experiences that take place in a variety of settings across the continuum of care, with expert clinicians serving as preceptors. Upon program completion, you will be able to synthesize knowledge from humanities, sciences, and nursing to design cost-effective, evidence-based plans of care that are patient-centered and encompass diverse patients from multicultural backgrounds.

While maintaining the RISES values learned at Neumann, you will integrate ethical and professional advanced nursing practice behaviors through the application of National Standards. You will also be eligible to apply for the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner national certification examination and for state licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
